National Volunteer Week 2026: Your Year to Volunteer

May 18, 2026

National Volunteer Week is a chance to recognise and celebrate the people who generously give their time to support others and make our community stronger.

This year’s theme, Your Year to Volunteer, highlights that volunteering looks different for everyone. Whether you volunteer regularly, help out from time to time, or are thinking about getting involved for the first time, there are many ways to make a meaningful contribution.

At Whittlesea Community Connections, volunteers are an important part of what we do. They support our programs, events and services, and bring time, skills and kindness that make a real difference in the lives of others.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing stories from some of our wonderful volunteers and community members across our social media channels, highlighting the impact they make every day.

To all of our volunteers, thank you. Your generosity, dedication and willingness to help others are what make our community stronger, more connected and more welcoming for everyone.
