The Learn Local: Introduction to Conservation program invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to reconnect with Country while gaining practical conservation skills that can support future study or employment.
🌿 What the Program Offers
Participants spend three full days learning outdoors at nugal biik Plants and Seeds at Wollert Community Farm. The program blends cultural knowledge with hands on environmental work, including:
- Connection to Country and traditional land management
- Employment and training pathways in conservation
- Seed collection and plant nursery skills
- Guided cultural walks and site visits
- Practical conservation activities such as revegetation, weed management, and water surveys
