Helping communities impacted by the Longwood fire

Whittlesea Community Connections is here to help people impacted by the Longwood fire.

How we can help:

  • General legal information, advice and referrals
  • Social work support and brief crisis support
  • Hardship assistance support (including fresh food relief, frozen meals, medication waivers, children’s items, toiletries)
  • Help applying for payments and grants i.e. utility relief and Queens Funds grants for single women, and hardship/disaster payments
  • Help with form filling, paperwork, and documentation i.e. ID, passports, Medicare etc.
  • Support navigating services such as Centrelink, housing, insurance, emergency relief, and community supports
  • Culturally responsive support to migrant, refugees and newly arrived communities
  • Support for people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
