From 10 to 16 August, we’re celebrating National Youth Volunteer Week and recognising the young people who are making a positive difference in communities across Australia.
At Whittlesea Community Connections, we see the value of young people getting involved in their communities, sharing their ideas, building new skills and connections, and finding meaningful ways to contribute.
This year’s National Youth Volunteer Week theme, #YourYearToLead, is a reminder that leadership isn’t about age or title. Leadership can start by taking action, supporting others, sharing your voice and helping create positive change in your community.
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing information across our social media channels about youth participation and volunteering, celebrating the work of our Youth team, and highlighting some of the different ways young people can connect, participate and volunteer with WCC.
Whether it’s joining a local activity, taking part in a community project, volunteering or sharing ideas about issues that matter to them, there are many ways for young people to get involved.
