We are very proud of our colleague Joud Armanazi, who recently spoke as a guest speaker at a local International Women’s Day celebration hosted by Federal MP Andrew Giles.
During the event, Joud shared her journey of starting over in a new country and rebuilding her employment pathway in Australia. She spoke about how resilience, along with the support of organisations such as Whittlesea Community Connections (WCC), helped her regain her confidence and find new opportunities.
Reflecting on the experience, Joud shared that the moment reminded her how far resilience and community support can take someone. Her story highlighted the importance of communities investing in people and women uplifting one another.
We were also proud to have Hiba Ayass representing WCC at the event with an information stall, sharing information about our programs and connecting with community members.
Moments like these remind us of the power of community support and the importance of creating opportunities for women.
