This ongoing project seeks to strengthen and expand levels of community involvement, participation and volunteer activity in Whittlesea's growing and diverse municipality. Whittlesea Community Engagement Framework and Principles were developed after an extensive research and consultation process involving a wide cross-section of Whitlesea residents, community groups and agencies . This includes information and tools to assist organisations, governments and the private sector to implement meaningful community participation activities and increase local involvement and influence in decision-making.
WCC is committed to promoting the Principles and working collaboratively with the community sector to implement the Framework and increase and improve community engagement. We encourage organisations to formally adopt the principles and can provide assistance to agencies wishing to increase community participation within their organisation.
