Services & Programs » Community Transport
The community transport service is available to City of Whittlesea residents who are transport disadvantaged. This means residents who do not have access to a car and have difficulty accessing other forms of transport (ie: public transport, taxis etc). Specially trained and supported drivers and transport escorts take community members to anything from medical appointments to social support groups using one of our well maintained minibuses and cars.
Residents can access the service through a referral process. The referral forms need to be filled in and faxed to us by a local service that the client has access to, this could be a medical practitioner, social worker, teacher, youth worker etc. Services to groups are also available where members of the group meet the eligibility criteria.
The service is offered free of charge, however as this service currently receives no funding, we encourage gold coin donations where possible. Likewise a donation is encouraged from organisations and groups using the service.
To hire a mini-bus for your own group activity please complete the Mini-Bus Booking Form.
